Simon Connor is a composer, sound artist & sound designer based in Manchester UK. He is also a researcher and lecturer in Music Technology at the University of Salford. His main interests are exploring the boundaries between sound design and composition, merging found sound, field recordings and traditional instrumentation. Simon mainly works in sound and music for film and for gallery based installations, examples of work can be found via the links above.
His work has been featured on BBC Radio 3, and collaborative film projects have been screened/performed internationally, including CPH DOX (CPH), DOKU Arts Festival (DE), FILAF International Art Book and Film Festival (FR), Alte Schmiede (AT) Flatpack Festival (UK), the ICA London (UK) amongst others (see menu links for further info).

Simon's creative practice informs the basis of his PhD research; an inquiry into multimodal artistic landscapes, utilising multi-screen projection and headtracked binaura audio. The practice-based output of this research is entitled Oden. He is currently completing this research at the Centre for Research in New Music (CeReNeM), at the University of Huddersfield.
